Network Marketing Multi-Level Marketing (MLM)

You've heard it called Network Marketing, Multi-Level Marketing and MLM. Most of you would also add SCAM, Pyramid and Ponzi.
It amazes me how extreme the different views are on the topic of network marketing and MLM. There are people who are so passionate about it and believe that millions can be made in this business model. In fact Donald Trump, Robert Kiyosaki and Mark Victor Hansen endorse it. What is it that they see, that most of don't?
In fact, for most regular people, in many circles, there is a so much shame that to declare yourself being in MLM is like the kiss of death. Why? Because of how they (your upline) tells you how to get people under you (your downline). You know the drill - drag your family and friends to the "opportunity meetings" and torture them into signing up and then feeling bad because no one is making millions.
What Is Network Marketing?
Network marketing is a business distribution model, marketing many different types of products. The products found in network marketing are not sold retail, but by individuals. That is how the product gets disributed. It often focuses on sharing a story, teaching and coaching others to do the same.
Network Marketing is about selling/marketing a product and most people are hesitant to think about this as a business because they are not “Sales People”.
But think about it - In reality every “JOB” out there is a sales/marketing job. Lawyers are selling/marketing their expert advice, Therapists must market themselves to get clients, Hairdressers must sell/market their service, Doctors do the same selling their medical opinion…everyone is exchanging their service, expertise or time for money. People seeking out their services are the people that they want to market to. That is known as
attraction marketing.
Why 97% Fail in Network Marketing

That's a fact that 97% fail. How many people do you know that "tried" to do MLM and were so enthusiastic and then you heard nothing a few months later. In fact, most network marketers "try" for three months and then drop out.
When you are approached to join an MLM, here is one thing they don't tell you. 97% of those that sign up end up losing money instead of making it.
Pretty crazy, don't you think?
Network marketing can work, but you must know the 7 great lies that are always being told.
Every day, people join a network marketing "system" only to have it fall flat and in some cases several thousand dollars are lost, friends and family are mad and the relationships are worse off, and then they give up, disillusioned and dissapointed.
And this really makes me mad because if you are armed with the correct knowledge and a plan of action, network marketing or multi-level marketing is one of the single best ways for ordinary people to make extraordinary incomes. It can be the fastest way to go from Bankruptcy Into Abundance, financially.
So why do so few people make it? Surely they can't all be lazy and incompetent and stupid.
Of course not!
The problem is that in no other business are there so many people with so little idea about sales and marketing (your upline) trying to teach other people ( you and your downline) who are equally clueless about sales and marketing. Nowhere is the phrase "the blind leading the blind" more appropriate than in this business model.
Not only are the usual methods - your list of 100 people, talking to anyone you see, dragging family and friends - employed in the MLM industry ineffective, those methods have also given it such a bad name that people's opinions about it are almost beyond repair. Kind of like a how people think of used car sales people.
Lies are passed down from one sponsor right on down to the next.
Lies such as "everyone is your prospect". Many people are (or at least think they are)perfectly content with their current job, income and way of life.
Others hate the idea of network marketing and would sooner cut out their own heart rather than be involved in it.
Some people believe that making lots of money is a bad thing. Rember what we talked about on what our
belief sytems
are? Some people are frightened to death of anything that involves the slightest element of risk.
There are a hundred other reasons why and the bottom line is that everyone is not a prospect and it's a waste of your time, energy and not to mention your self-respect trying to recruit people who have not shown the slightest interest in what you have to offer.
And guess what? It's not your job to try to convert people. By forcing your business opportunity down their throats you've just shown them how you do business yourself. It's not a pretty picture and no wonder they don't want to do what you just did!
This type of poor "marketing" leads to poor very results. And worse still, by using the much-hyped "speak to everyone you meet about your business" rule, you are showing your prospect that you are the kind of business person who isn't professional and does not understand how to market. What kind of impression does that give your prospect?
Who wants to work with someone who advertises their business this way? We spoke of therapists, lawyers, hairdressers and doctors before. Do you ever see them hitting up anyone they come in contact with begging them to do business with them?
So what's the answer?
It's pretty simple. Get the customer to come to you first
using a proven system of lead generation and marketing. A customer who is actively seeking what you have to offer is the only kind of customer worth spending time on. Otherwise know as
ATTRACTION MARKETING.
Network Marketing Does Best In A Down Enonomy
Network marketing does best when the economy is down.
How many people do you know that have talked about getting a second job since the economy has done what it's done in the past year?
How many people talk about how their 401K's have disappeared because of the drop in the stock market?
How many people have higher mortgage payments because their adjustable rate just adjusted?
How many people need to sell their home because they can't afford it any longer and there is no market for it?
The things that we thought we could count on for so long are no longer things we can count on. Real Estate, Stock Market, Saving for Retirement.
What we know is we can count on ourselves. We know that we are not doomed. We know that we do not have to come from lack. We know that we can go from Bankruptcy Into Abundance. We know that we can change our minds and we can change or lives!
What other opportunities in this down economy have the potential of making enough money in a year or two that will allow someone to retire?
Robery Kiyosaki sees it as a way out of the rat race. And so do I. I believe that you can work hard once and reap the rewards month after month without having to do that same work again.
